Do Musicians Need To Know How To Make Beats?
This was an interesting on that I got in the mailbox today because this is a hard topic to talk about because it comes down to what does a musician want to accomplish. This is if they want to know how to make and produce beats and enter the area of producing.
If you are an upcoming musicians I would definitely say that you should know how to make beats because:
a) Trains your creative side
b) Helps your ear training
c) You can make money (and everyone loves money)
d) Improve your skills
e) Learn to make backing tracks if you want to learn how to play beside a band
There are other reasons however, I personally feel that these are quite important.
I will say that if you are a beginner who is just starting out perfect your craft and skills before you start to go into this area. This takes a lot of hard work and very little technical knowledge to produce beats/tracks.
If your an aspiring producer who is a musician its a great avenue to take. You can perfect your craft and make some quality pieces instead of sampling.
What do you all think! Should musicians know how to make beats? Should musicians go into producing?
All the Best,
