Many musicians have been sending emails asking for many different rhodes patches for the motif. There is very limited material on the market in regards to this so I have looked across the internet to find the very best in rhodes patches for the motif. Here is what I have found in no particular order.
1) Rhodes Patches for Motif XF/XS
This one was a very interesting piece because this one came from Jamal Hartwell. For this piece you need to make sure that you install RAM on your keyboard or this is not good for you. One thing that I found out is that it is hard to customize something that is already done. It's a great patch and I would recommend it as a top pick. It's based on two distinct sounds. The first sound is like something you would hear off of like a neo-soul track from a famous artist and the second one is like a hip hop style rhodes.
2) MKSensation: Roland MKS-20 Piano Module Sounds
On the top rank this would definitely be up there because Roland keyboards are excellent however they are not Yamaha. (This just maybe because I like Yamaha!, in my opinion) Roland has some very unique sounds in it's vault and they have definately come a long way. This one was very nice because this one was a downloadable and you could take it on the go. This emulated the sounds really nicely and when you get a chance have some fun and mess around with the velocity curves and vibrato. The only disadvantage is that you need Kontact 4 for it to work if you are using your computer. This doesn't work with the free version.
3) Neo-Soul Suitcase
After seeing this in action, this certainly emulates a classic rhodes very and I mean very close. Based on personal preference, you need to customize the sound to your liking and this one requires Kontact 4 paid version (not free) for this to work. More musicians want that vintage sound and this has surely come a long way from the beginning stages.
There you have it here are the best rhodes patches out there. Hope you all enjoy. If you have any questions just contact us via email, Twitter or website.
