One of the many things that musicians look to do is continueoulsy learn. They need a new insight into their music. This maybe through learning a new style or a new chord that can add some flavour into their music. One of the key issues is that a musician will take a certain about of time to master a piece of music or a chord progression and add it to their vocabulary.
The main point that I am trying get across is that it comes down to "MEMORY". If it's your first time doing something it becomes a new experience. However, when you do something hundreds of times; the most important thing is that can you remember it?. Also, is this a new experience for you?
There are moments when you don't even need to think about doing it. Just like Nike their slogan is "Just Do It!"
When you sit down to practice anything that you have learned this year just remember to have an open mind and use your memory because it will unlock doors and levels for your music this year.
If your ever unsure, lost or just out of place just remember that this year will lead you to new insights.
