Slience....Space...Solitude...[What A Musician Needs]
I start to reflect upon the times when I was most useful and effective as a musician. Throughout my years of playing I have realize three important concepts:
Silence is Golden
Is it just me or there are times when you need the silence. It lets you see what may be your diamond in the rough. There are times when I get distracted as a musician. This maybe through technology (Unfortunately, I am in my 20's) such as Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn and even just the cell phone in general. Sometimes being a musician you need to take a step back and listen to the people around you. When I can take in what people have to say I can add more value and input.
Space is Great
I need space..believe or not but we all need space because if I don't have it or make it I can't....
-do reflective thinking
-see what's the next plan
-see how I am doing
What I find is that if I don't have that space I can't practice efficiently. It doesn't allow me (as a musician) to really be focused in my playing. Not only that but as well talk to the reader which is you.
Solitude (Alone Time)
Utimately, I need solitude sometimes in my life. If I can get away from it all it allows me to think better. It's not being mean to block everyone out it's just so that I can be in a better frame to help everyone. As a musician, being separated from everything else is a good thing because just as I mentioned in the first part it allows great things to happen. I got to have the alone time because going back to point number 1 it allows me to grow.
