Don't Give Up In Music..

Well, since the Super Bowl just passed our family loves to have a tradition where we play video games and in honor of the Super Bowl we played Madden 12. Every year it's the same thing I get beaten by one of my family members. This year it just happened that he beat me by one touchdown. With, 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter I was just about to win until an interception then I knew that all hope was lost.

Like the brother he is he tends to rub it in my face and talk smack about how I am going to lose and how I suck. This was well and good but I didn't let it bother me. Even though I lost one game I challenged him to a rematch and I WON.

No matter if you lose one or you lose a hundred times you never throw in the towel. You keep trying until something works. You test everything and guess nothing. What is interesting is that this principle works the same way in music. You test everything from the different chords to the different runs that work until you can find a perfect fit for you.

In all seriousness, being a musician is not a walk in the park. Learning to play an instrument or learning to play with the right fingering or technique takes time. I just want to pass on some words of encouragement to all the musicians and asipring musicians to Never Throw In The Towel and keep pushing towards success.
